What has always been a passion of mine is slowly turning into an exciting and rewarding pastime. I've always loved fashion and grew up with a needle and thread in hand. During my youth, I wanted nothing more than to become a designer, however my pragmatic side led me to a master's degree in human biology. Now I'm a thirty-something house mom that still itches to get into the business somehow. Add that to my passion for shopping and you get my little resale business that I've named "Jaicienne". (It's a french-ish spin on my initials J.C.N., which is hopefully clever to more than myself!!)

I do hope you enjoy my listings. It has become a labor of love that has added a whole new spring in my step. I'm still trying to become organized, so it's a work in progress. I love to think that eventually I can throw some of my own designs into the mix, so be on the lookout when the kids finally get back in school.

I'm sure there are plenty of women out there like me. Being a woman in my thirties, I've gone through many torturous years of trial and error with fashion. (Let's not even talk about high school!I dread the day when my kids find my yearbook. Ack!) However, all the "work" wasn't for naught, because I have emerged more confident and savvy than ever! I've tried to glean some lessons from every mistake, so here are a few pearls of wisdom:

1. Know your own personal style and dress according to what makes you feel good inside and out. A confident woman is a beautiful woman!

2. Buy the best quality you can possibly afford. Well-made garments and accessories withstand the test of time.

3. Invest in classics. They will endure the fads and trends.

4. Know your body type. Stick to styles and colors that are flattering on you. You can be a slave to fashion, but never its victim!

5. Spend wisely when on a budget. Expensive shoes and a nice bag can give life to less expensive clothing.
